Julian Lundgren is the co-founder of Philippines Virtual Assistants (PHVA), a managed VA placement service for US real estate teams. Before starting PHVA in 2021, Julian spent five years as a licensed Realtor in the Twin Cities, where he ran a small team and burned out trying to handle transaction coordination, lead follow-up, and listing prep at the same time. His first attempt at hiring offshore went badly — six weeks of training a VA who quit on day 14 with no warning.
That experience became the seed of PHVA. Julian and his co-founder rebuilt the model around the gaps that broke that first hire: real screening (not just a resume on a job board), structured training (the PHVA Academy with a 2% acceptance rate), and a managed relationship with a Success Manager who handles weekly check-ins, payroll, and the management work most operators don’t want to do.
Julian leads the placement and partnerships side of PHVA. Day to day, that means reviewing matches before they go to clients, jumping into Success Manager calls when a placement needs a course correction, and making sure the Academy curriculum stays aligned with what real estate teams actually need (which has shifted a lot since 2021 — KvCORE migration, AI-assisted ISA work, Dotloop changes).
